About Commissions and Custom Work

Commissions and custom orders are accepted selectively. I will not accept an order if we feel we are unable to complete a particular order for a select time frame, garment, purpose, budget or any reason otherwise.

Currently I offer two options for custom orders:

The first is a custom drafted and designed garment to your measurements and specifications, done without a mockup and sent directly to you.

The second is the bespoke option, which involves a mockup and fittings. I will create a mockup of the garment and mail it to you to try on and make notes on any changes in terms of fit and style before moving on to either a second mockup or the final garment.

There is an additional cost for mockups and associated fitting costs.

To inquire about a commission and get a accurate quote please contact me with the following information:

  • As much detail about the garment and materials, with references if possible. Alternatively, if you have flexible ideas let me know as well and we can work on a design
  • Your budget. This way I can let you know what is realistically possible within your budget. I try to do my best to accommodate given budgets, but it is not always possible for more complex garments.
  • If you have a specific deadline, such as an event
  • Your rough measurements (height, chest, waist, hip) give me a better idea of the fit, especially for corsetry.

If the quote and the options for your design are satisfactory, as of 2024, I am now taking a 100 CAD non-refundable deposit before any detailed design work can begin. I am happy to answer further questions, but a deposit is required before I can begin any pattern, design, or research work. This secures your spot in my commission queue and helps me plan and prioritise orders. The deposit will then be deducted from the cost of the commission.

Custom Work

Commissions and custom orders are accepted selectively. I will not accept an order if I feel I am unable to complete a particular order for a select timeframe/garment/purpose/budget or any reason otherwise.

Payment

Payment is accepted via Paypal or e-transfer for Canadian Customers.

Payment in full is preferred, but a 50% deposit is required upfront for all custom orders before work can begin. Instalment payment plans are available, please contact me directly. Full amount must be paid before the final garment can be shipped.

Deposit Policy

A $100 CAD non-refundable deposit is required before the design and research process can begin. This secures you a commission slot and I am able to prioritise your order in my queue.

The remaining balance for custom work can be paid in instalments or as discussed. All deposits are non-refundable.

Refunds and Exchanges

All custom and made-to-measure orders are non-refundable and non-returnable. Please contact me if you have an issue with your order and I can make it right. All deposits are non-refundable.

Shipping

Items are shipped from Ontario, Canada.
Currently all orders are shipped with Canada Post and forwarded to the destination country’s postal system (such as USPS, Royal Mail). If this is an issue, please contact us directly.

Shipping costs depend on the location of the buyer. If you are outside North America and are worried about shipping cost, please contact us for a quote.

Taxes and Duties

The buyer is responsible for all taxes and duties incurred on their order.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a garment cost?

This varies significantly depending on the garment, material, and construction style. If you have something in mind, please contact us with as much detail as possible about what you have in mind for an estimate.

Can you replicate an extant garment for me?

In some cases, yes. This depends on the age of the garment, and if there are any potential copyright concerns. Please note that original practice/historic recreations require additional time and labour and are thus priced accordingly.

I saw something on your page, can you make that for me?

In most cases, yes. Historically based and original designs can be repeated, however anything that was a client’s original design or was otherwise asked not to be replicated cannot.

Do you do commissions for cosplay?

In some cases, yes. Historically-inspired or corsetry focused cosplay pieces are certainly possible.
